The Ruling Class Understand The Weaknesses Of The British Left

The implosion of the Corbyn project stems from the fact that the British left continues to harbour strong pro-imperialist sentiments. This is true with regard to the two political problems that dogged the Corbyn movement, Brexit and the (entirely fake) antisemitism scandal.

The question of how much the anti semitism scandal damaged Corbyn is an interesting one. Judging from my own experience in the 2017 campaign and afterwards, it was almost never brought up by workers. The only time it was mentioned was either by labour party cranks who pushed it or zionist fanatics who’d happily murder every Palestinian tomorrow so were already hostile. What did get brought up, all the time, by workers were two things.

1) How the hell can we trust the labour party after the Blair era?

2) What will Corbyn do about implementing brexit when he publicly opposed it?

It was these two questions which both proved fatal, the second proved devastating when the policy changed and the moronic left cheers this on. More than anything else becoming an anti brexit party killed the Corbyn movement stone dead amongst huge swathes of the working class.

So what about the fake antisemitism scandal? What damage did that do? The utility of this for the ruling class was that it created perpetual chaos within the labour left, dominated as it is by social chauvinists and social imperialists, who are either very weak on imperialism, sympathetic to zionism or are outright zionists.

This meant that anytime the ruling class needed to cause internal problems the fake scandal was reignited again. This enabled them to remove potentially powerful allies of Corbyn like Livingstone, Wadsworth and Chris Williamson. So whilst it was not the cause of the 2019 implosion it was another effective tactic deployed by the ruling class which played upon all the weaknesses of the British left to wreak chaos internally.
