Press release from the Pole of Communist Renaissance in France (PRCF) following the first round of legislative elections – July 1 , 2024

          The result of the first round of the legislative elections confirms the workers’ desire to put an end to a politically carbonized Macronie, but also  the URGENT need to build a  real  alternative to  effectively stop  the far right . This is why the PRCF led, for the boycott of the European vote and for the legislative elections, a highly political  and  coherent campaign , combining the essential anti-racist and anti-fascist fight  with the no less essential fight for a truly popular  Front   . The PRCF and JRCF activists spared no effort to distribute the thirty immediate measures on popular markets and at the doors of companies,  while demonstrating the ineptitude and the dangerousness of the anti-patriotic and anti-popular program carried by the Lepen-Bardellist Rally and its satellites  who, among other things, do not want Frexit.

We would particularly like to congratulate the young comrades-candidates who courageously brought the proposals of the PRCF to universal suffrage as well as all the workers who gave them their trust despite the almost total censorship to which the PRCF is subjected . We also thank those, sympathisers and activists, who worked on this campaign through their financial support, as well as the members of the national support committee who made their intellectual and political contribution to this essential campaign  which does not stop and will not stop .

Indeed, in the continuity of the pre-campaign for the 2022 presidential election,  the PRCF’s political campaign   will continue in the second round  at a time when, in accordance with the announced polls, Macronie is reduced to a bare minimum and the far right could see its number of deputies almost triple. Anything but a surprise, as Macron – still presented by members of the “New Popular Front” as an “anti-fascist barrier” after seven years of fascist politics! – has fed the Le Pen-Bardella duo and its satellites by amplifying the march towards world war, the European federal leap and the Euro-Atlantic destruction of the country. Incidentally, as the PRCF has been saying for years, abstention has become a dangerous enemy for the RN  : for years, increased electoral participation has increasingly favored it and it increasingly benefits from a vote of support (for racist reasons OR for other reasons).

This is why the PRCF is pursuing two objectives: to bring a real alternative of progressive rupture AND to effectively block   the extreme right. On this subject, aware of the situation,  the PRCF calls for voting, on July 7, for  the PCF and LFI candidates  with the sole aim of  blocking the RN, Zemmour and Ciotti  ; the instruction also applies to  blocking Macronie and the LR,  a real pseudo-republican springboard for fascisation.  Preventing as many RN deputies as possible from being elected is an unavoidable anti-fascist necessity, especially since the RN will amplify the same policy of Euro-Atlantic submission, of breaking public services, social conquests, democratic freedoms and the one, indivisible and secular Republic, all while allowing xenophobic and anti-popular violence to flourish. Stopping this falsely “patriotic” party, which is entirely submissive to the EU-NATO and the capitalist oligarchy, is also a matter of honour for all those who hold dear the France of the Enlightenment, the Sans-Culottes, the Communards, the Resistance and the authentic Popular Front of 1936.

Leading the anti-fascist fight requires a coherent line that, clearly, parties like EELV or the PS are incapable of leading . Furthermore, if it is respected, the instruction to automatically withdraw NFP candidates who came third in favor of the RN’s opponent in the second round, whoever it may be , would lead the NFP to campaign for people like Laurent Wauquier or Gérald Darmanin. However, they bear an enormous responsibility for the country’s fascisation: the former for having shifted LR to the right and paved the way for the sinister Éric Ciotti; the latter, as the architect of the scandalous “immigration law”, enthusiastically supported by the RN!

Furthermore,  there is no illusion to be had about the NFP’s “breakthrough program” , which recycles objective promoters of fascisation like François Hollande and which has adopted the Euro-Atlantic line of the PS, EELV and Raphaël Glucksmann, objectively pushing for world war against Russia. By not considering any real balance of power with the EU of Capital, the IMF, the WTO and NATO as LFI proposed in 2017 to realize its social promises, the NFP is doomed to failure  in the long term , as in 1982-1983, as in 1997-2002 and as in 2012.

However, the PRCF has not stopped warning the PCF and LFI for years against such a drift, and again during this first round by directly challenging a number of PCF and LFI candidates who, for the vast majority, opted for a habitual contemptuous silence. The critical vote of the PRCF in favor of the LFI and PCF candidates, despite the serious sectarianism of the general staff of these parties, must therefore above all be understood as an outstretched hand to the rank-and-file activists claiming to be communists and “insubordinate” and as a call to create with them, as well as with the fighting unionists,  a real anti-fascist, popular, peaceful, patriotic and ecological Front , anchored in a large overall movement of the working people and the popular youth.

Beyond the electoral cycle, it is vital to amplify the fight to  rebuild a REAL communist party, independent of Euro-Atlantic social democracy  (including the LFI)  which, to varying degrees, always ends up preferring Atlantic Europe to the fight for socialism. But also to amplify the fight for a combative unionism in TOTAL rupture with the confederal Euro-leaderships aligned with Laurent Berger and which dangle the lie of “social, peaceful and democratic Europe”, while the federal state and the European army in gestation are entirely turned against the sovereignty of the people, against the Europe of struggles and against peace on our continent.

At a time when the country could become definitively ungovernable – and, consequently, risks sinking sooner or later into fascism if a coherent revolutionary force is still slow to form –, the time is no longer for blissful confidence in the established “left” to defeat Macronie and all the radicalized right . The time has come for the Red and Tricolor Alternative, breaking with the euro, the EU, NATO AND capitalism, as proposed by the PRCF, a  vital condition  for saving continental peace and for truly rebuilding the France of the workers!
