Welcome to the Marx-Engels Institute. This is a project that has developed out of the Red Star Radio podcast. It is a necessary endeavour due to the woeful state of political education in the imperial core nations, a state that has only been confirmed by all the political developments that have worn the “left” label since the crisis of 2008.

The old world order is decaying and falling apart before us. Aware of it’s rotting state the American bourgeoisie lurches around wildly desperately looking for a way to stop the rot, to turn back the clock, anything to preserve the world as it was during their long period of domination that stretched through the long 20th century.  Now with the war in Ukraine revealing the hollowness of US power and with the Chinese far outstripping the US in industrial production the fall of the US empire can no longer be denied.

However, as the collapse of the western capitalist order began though those of the Communist perspective had never been in a weaker state.  Thrown into disarray by the collapse of the USSR and the triumphant onslaught of the capitalist class on even the most basic facets of working class consciousness many faltered, retreated into reformism or surrendered totally to the logic of the “end of history” logic.

What has become clear since 2008 is the need for a theoretical re-arming of the communist movement in western capitalist world.  This must take into account the brilliant works that have been done by communists across Asia, South America and other locations, who have kept developing revolutionary theory and practice at a time when the old communist parties of the west vanished entirely.

In short what this site will be about is being a part of the process of theoretically and practically rearming ourselves for the intensifying struggle ahead.  We will be covering theory, history and practice on a weekly basis in a similar way to that which we started via the Red Star Radio podcast.  We hope that comrades find value here as we all must be ready and armed for the struggle ahead.
