The taking over of Georgian “civil society” by US and European organisations since 2008 ran alongside the influx of western capital into the country. The Saakashvili years saw Georgia be turned into a capitalist dystopia with labour laws being shredded and the working class relentlessly under attack from the comprador ruling class. What this has produced is a country where all sovereignty has been surrendered as both the base and superstructure of Georgian society are totally under the control of US imperialism.
